For all of you gamers out there, this blog post is for you! Trying to use the on screen controls while playing iPad or iPhone games is not all that fun. However, there’s a way to use your Xbox controller to play your games! Let’s see how to do that so you can REALLY game out! (Note: If you would rather watch the full video, then scroll down to the bottom. This video shows an iPad, but it works the same on iPhone.)
Step 1: Open Settings > Bluetooth
Pull up your Settings app and tap on Bluetooth. You should see your currently paired devices. Make sure your bluetooth is turned on. From there you can add your Xbox controller.
Step 2: Hold Xbox Button on Controller
Now you will need to push and hold the Xbox button on your controller. It will start to flash. That will put the controller in discovery mode. Your iPad or iPhone should find it. It will appear on your screen.
Step 3: Pair the Xbox Controller to iPad / iPhone
Once your Xbox controller is in discovery mode, you should see it pop up on your screen. From there, tap “Pair” to start the process. After that, you should see it add to your Devices list. Now you can use it to play games!
